Sibling rivalry drag race: Audi RS 3 Saloon vs Audi RS 4 Avant

Which fast Audi will have its RS handed to it?

IT’S RARE for performance cars from different classes, produced by the same company, to be eerily similar to each other in performance, but that’s exactly what’s happened at Audi.

Despite its twin-turbo V6 producing 50bhp more than the five-cylinder engine in the smaller RS3, the Audi RS4 Avant estate car shares its on-paper 0-62mph time of 4.1 seconds with the smaller saloon.

With such performance parity, the folks over at carwow decided to see if that identical performance is carried over to the real world, courtesy of a quarter-mile drag race. To make things even more interesting, they also decided to see how the two RS cars fared in rolling acceleration and 70-0mph braking tests.

So, will the Audi RS4 win this bout of sibling rivalry, or does the Audi RS3 have what it takes to beat its bigger brother? Watch the video above and find out.
