A SIGN of how poor London’s roads are comes with this evidence of BMW testing next year’s 2-series convertible in the capital.

Snapped today, May 6, at 1.45pm, our spyshot shows a test model travelling eastwards along Tower Hill in the direction of Tower Bridge. While the road at this point is in relatively good condition, it quickly becomes a suspension-challenging ordeal for any car, let alone one without a roof.

Clearly, BMW believes that if it is to match the tautness of Audi’s new A3 cabriolet, it must expose its new convertible, and the engineers developing it, to some of the worst roads in the world.
