Hero dad pulls son from burning race car

Driver trapped for 25 seconds

A RACING driver was saved by his dad after getting trapped in his burning car at the South Boston Speedway track, Virginia.

Mike Jones’ vehicle was sent crashing into the walls and spinning out of control after he collided with another driver, before his car went up in flames.

Jones was stuck inside the vehicle for around 15 seconds as flames erupted from the bonnet.

His panicked father Dean Jones, who was wearing just shorts and a T-shirt, then leaped over a fence and managed to haul his son out of the window after he had spent close to 25 seconds stuck in the blaze.

While Jones escaped unscathed, his father was put on probation by Nascar for jumping the barrier.
