Land Rover Discovery production moving from Solihull to Slovakia

PRODUCTION of the Land Rover Discovery will be relocated to a factory in Slovakia, the car maker has confirmed.

As part of the model line reshuffle, the Solihull factory where the Discovery is currently being built will be upgraded to “accommodate [the] next-generation of flagship Land Rover models” — confirming cars such as the Land Rover Range Rover will still be built at the site.
Despite the commitment to Solihull, Jaguar Land Rover has suggested “potential losses of some agency employed staff in the UK” could be at least a short-term consequence of moving Land Rover Discovery production away from the West Midlands factory.
