Renault says the Symbioz concept rethinks car design fundamentally, doubling as both a car and a mobile, multi-purpose room — an extension of the home — that can share its battery to power appliances during peak demand.
Jaguar has gone full autonomous with the Future-type concept, which is designed to be summoned via a voice-activated, artificially-intelligent steering wheel that you remove and keep in your home.

Representing Mercedes's first foray into the mid-size electric hatchback segment, the Concept EQA is said to feature not one but two electric motors, producing a claimed 268bhp, and four-wheel drive. It would also be capable of wireless charging.
The pure-electric VW I.D.CROZZ concept straddles the coupé/SUV divide and will end up in production from 2020, says VW. It's part of a big push into EVs, with 23 pure-electric models planned by 2025.
The Audi Aicon is a fully-autonomous 2+2-seater four-door coupé concept that does away with steering wheel and pedals and instead concentrates on space and comfort for work and relaxation on the move.
The i Vision Dynamics concept is a four-door GT that would slot into BMW's electric offering between the i3 and i8. The pure-electric drive system enables 373 miles between charges, says BMW, with 0-62mph in 4sec and a top speed of over 124 mph.
It may have a bad name but the fully-autonomous Sedric concept is important as it symbolises VW's transformation from car maker to supplier of hardware, software and digital mobility services, according to the company.
Skoda's Vision E first broke cover at the Auto Shanghai but is updated for Frankfurt. It has two electric motors producing 301bhp, and a battery capable of 311 miles per charge.

THE 2017 Frankfurt motor show is a big one for interesting new road cars but if there’s a theme to the plethora of futuristic concepts sitting alongside the production models, it’s very much electric mobility and autonomous dreams.
