1954 Ferrari 375 Plus

ONE OF the most expensive cars to be sold is at the centre of a row involving one of the world’s most prestigious auction houses and a lingerie billionaire. Les Wexner, head of the clothing firm that owns Victoria’s Secret, paid almost £11m for the 1954 Ferrari 375 Plus at this summer’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. In papers lodged at the High Court in London he is now demanding his money back, claiming Bonhams misled him when it sold the car. Previous owners are still claiming a share of the vehicle.

The auction house is contesting the claim.
