Five hospitalised by multi-car pileup in Australia (video)

One major injury following four-car smash

FIVE adults have been hospitalised in Australia following a major crash in a suburb of Sydney.

The cause of the pile-up is yet to be determined, though New South Wales Police confirmed the collision, which occurred at 7:30pm on November 4, involved four cars.

Three of the four cars were seriously damaged. The front end of a Volkswagen Polo was crushed in the crash, and the smash had enough force to tear the roof, boot lid and both off-side doors from a Toyota Corolla hatchback.

According to the police there were no fatalities, but some of the five people involved in the crash were seriously injured, with one being treated in hospital for a broken pelvis.
