The 183mph special edition sports car features a 6-litre V12 petrol engine, automatic gearbox, lightweight bonded aluminium structure and carbon fibre body panels. The graduated paint finish and sterling silver Aston Martin wings with tailored ‘trans flux’ enamel are unique to the Centenary Edition.

The carbon fibre continues inside, mixing with fine luxury leathers and aluminium features, as well as individually numbered sterling silver sill plaques and silver-thread-embroidered headrests.

James Bond actor Craig further personalised his model in partnership with Marek Reichman, Aston Martin’s Chief Creative Officer, to include the unique midnight-blue exterior and deep blue leather seats.

The car was sold together with a fitted blue leather box of accessories, including Bang & Olufsen earphones in a leather pouch, solid silver Aston Martin cufflinks, silver rollerball pen and a silver polishing cloth to buff the badges and plaques. The box includes a silver plaque numbered 007.

The winning bidder also has the opportunity to visit the Aston Martin Headquarters in Gaydon, Warwickshire, and meet with Reichman for a behind-the-scenes tour of the production facilities, including the chance to observe each step of the car’s manufacturing from start to finish.

Proceeds from the auction benefit The Opportunity Network, a non-profit organisation that provides young people with pathways to career development.

“This Aston Martin Vanquish is a tour de force of automobile engineering and a distinct pleasure to drive,’ said Craig. ‘While I will miss it, I am keen to further the very important work of The Opportunity Network with its sale.”

Becky MacGuire, the sale’s director, said: “We are thrilled at the chance to support Daniel Craig’s generosity to The Opportunity Network with the offer of this unique and gorgeous sports car.”
