BMW boss Harold Krueger is said to be “recovering well” after collapsing during a keynote presentation at the Frankfurt motor show.
Krueger, who took over as chief executive in May, was reportedly just five minutes into a speech about the i8 electric car when he staggered backwards and fell to the stage, dazed. Aides rushed up to help him and led him away before another spokesperson told the assembled press that BMW would try to reschedule the press conference for a later stage.

A round table discussion that Mr Krueger was due to hold with journalists was instead conducted by Friedrich Eichiner, the company’s chief financial officer.
