The trailer for The Grand Tour season 3 is Clarkson, Hammond and May up to their usual spectacular antics

A taste of the motoring mayhem on our way in the New Year

WARNING: VIDEO CONTAINS SWEARING

WE DON’T have to wait much longer for the third series of The Grand Tour; the Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond-fronted show has been confirmed to hit screens on January 18, 2019.

To give us a taste of what’s awaiting us when the show starts in the next seven weeks, a short trailer has been released, showcasing the carnage awaiting us.

Of the many spectacular moments in the trailer, the ones that caught our eye in particular were the glimpses of a McLaren Senna being thrashed around the Eboladrome, the head-to-head race between Clarkson and Abbie “the Driver” Eaton on a…. erm.. .uniquely designed course in the snow, and Hammond inching across a rickety bridge in a Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck.

Oh, and James May playing the bagpipes.

Further fleshing out what we can expect from the third season of The Grand Tour is the official blurb on Amazon.co.uk, which says:

“Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are back for another season of adventure and idiocy, travelling the world to drive everything from hypercars and Italian classics to RVs and American muscle. If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to rampage around the globe with your most entertaining friends, don’t ask these three. They find each other rather annoying.”

The announcement of the release date is also critical for another reason: it gives us a better idea of when The Grand Tour Game will go on sale. When the tie-in title was announced in August this year, it was confirmed extra post-launch content for the game would be released in tandem with the new episodes.

More details on, and preview clips of, the new Grand Tour episodes are expected to be released in the weeks building up to the launch of the third season.
