The audacious theft took place at the Milton Keynes headquarters of the four-time F1 championship winners in December. Six men wearing balaclavas stole 60 of the team’s trophies. Twenty have since been recovered, after a member of the public spotted them in a lake in Sandhurst, Berkshire, 10 days after the incident.

Police released the CCTV video today. It will be shown tonight on the BBC’s Crimewatch programme as part of a renewed appeal to find the missing 40 trophies.

Christian Horner, Red Bull Racing’s team principal, told the BBC that the monetary value of the cups was “minimal” but “the emotional value is huge”.
