AS THE retailer that introduced the day to the UK more than a decade ago, it’s no surprise that Amazon Black Friday deals are some of the best around for motorists seeking savings.
We’re all familiar with the breadth of products offered on the online marketplace, making it a perfect online destination for thrifty petrolheads: it sells everything from car shampoo and air fresheners to tools, pressure washers and even tyres — and there are discounts across the board come November.

The best Amazon Black Friday deals for drivers
Thanks to a slow increase in car thefts and road accidents, dash cams are becoming more and more popular in the UK. They’re extremely useful in solving disagreements regarding the circumstances of a collision, while the footage is increasingly used as evidence in court cases.
And to get the peace of mind offered by a dash cam, you don’t have to fork out wads of cash — in Amazon’s Black Friday sales, basic models often cost less than £20, and you can get discounts worth hundreds of pounds on more expensive models from Garmin.
- Thinkware Q800 Pro Dash Cam, £254.15 (saving £74.85) – buy here
- Wolfbox 12in Mirror Dash Cam, £119.99 (saving £41) – buy here
- Ssongtong Dash Cam with 32GB SD Card, £35.69 (saving £24.30) – buy here
Many new cars come with built-in sat navs but some models in basic specs, as well as second hand cars, still need navigation assistance. Smartphone app-based services work well but many still find dedicated sat navs from the likes of TomTom and Garmin to be superior.
Last year Amazon offered up to 50% off TomTom sat navs and accessories, as well as 20% off Garmin tech, meaning that the saving that you got from your sat nav-less secondhand model just got even bigger. This year is showing excellent signs too, with TomToms already discounted by £59.
- TomTom GO Basic Sat Nav, £90.99 (saving £59.00) – buy here
- Awesafe 9in Sat Nav, £85.99 (saving £14) – buy here
Child car seats
Child car seats can be one of the very many expensive parts of having children — as they get taller and heavier, you find they grow out of the baby seats, going from Group 0 (for babies aged between six and nine months) to Group 3 (for kids aged between six and 12).
Grabbing one on Black Friday, then, means that you can save yourself a decent amount of money: This year, Amazon is offering discounts on travel products from Maxi-Cosi, Graco and Silver Cross, with some worth more than £100. We love the Cosatto range on sale this year, which come in a range of mood-lifting prints, with similarly mood-lifting price tags.

Pressure washers are a great, versatile bit of kit to have around the house; as well as making cleaning your car super easy, they can be used to wash your driveway or decking, saving you massive amounts of time compared to more hands-on methods.
However, buying one from a household name like Kärcher isn’t cheap — unless you buy one in a Black Friday sale. Last year, Amazon offered Kärcher goods at a 45% discount, which really takes the sting out of the price tag. This year we’ve already seen discounts of a third on many of the same models.
- Michelin MPX19EH, £92.38 (saving £37.52) – buy here
- Kärcher K2 Power Control, £119.00 (saving £31.00) – buy here
Being a DIYer is very handy but buying huge spanner and socket sets or power tools can make it expensive. However, this year Amazon is offering customers up to 40% off on tool and accessories — making buying a Christmas gift for your favourite tinkerer much easier.
- Hilka 120pc Metric Socket Tool Kit, £94.50 (saving £29.40) – buy here
- Dewinner Rotary Multi-Tool, £29.74 (saving £10.25) – buy here
- Colfuline 63-in-1 Precision Screwdriver Set, £7.99 (saving £2.00) – buy here
When is Black Friday 2021?
Black Friday is on November 26 this year, the day after Thanksgiving, a holiday celebrated in the United States of America and a few other countries. In the US, Thanksgiving is always celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November.
Many people in the US are given Black Friday off work, and we’ve become familiar with scenes of carnage in department stores as shoppers scramble to find the best deals. However, there are also loads of discounts to be found online, allowing you to shop in the tranquility of your own home.
To make it even more serene, we’ve compiled this guide to the best Amazon deals for motorists that you can find this November.
Does Amazon do Black Friday?
Amazon doesn’t just do Black Friday — along with a few other American-owned retailers, it’s responsible for introducing the event to UK customers back at the start of the 2010s.
You’ll find deals across the website, covering everything from clothes and cosmetics to alcohol and audio accessories. And, of course, you’ll find plenty of great car-related bargains.
With so many things on offer in Amazon’s Black Friday sale, it’s always best to know what you’re looking for ahead of time, so you can log on, add to basket, pay and log off. It’s online shopping made easy.
When does Amazon’s Black Friday sale start?
Amazon Black Friday deals are fabulous but fleeting — unlike some retailers that begin discounting items days or even weeks ahead of Black Friday itself, Amazon usually starts at some point on Thanksgiving itself.
That gives you just a limited window of time to nab a deal. So, like we said, it’s useful to know exactly what you’re looking for.
When does Amazon’s Black Friday sale end?
Some Amazon deals will be live for just 24 hours or so — many offers expire at the end of Black Friday itself, while some last through the weekend into Cyber Monday.
Cyber Monday is an online-based sibling event to Black Friday, and together they bookend the final weekend of November. This year, Cyber Monday is on November 29. You can expect Amazon Black Friday offers that don’t finish on Black Friday to end then.
While Amazon’s deals are generous, blink and you’ll miss them.
What to look out for in Amazon’s sale this year
In a word, everything — Amazon sells somewhere in the region of 12 million products, meaning that drivers are almost guaranteed to find something they like on the online marketplace.
You’ll be able to find discounts that translate to hundreds of pounds on tech such as dash cams and sat navs,
Does Amazon offer a student discount?
If you provide your academic email address and graduation year, you can sign up to Amazon Prime Student. Although this doesn’t get you discount on products, it entitles you to free one-day delivery on tonnes of items as well as access to thousands of shows and films through Prime Video.
You can get a six-month free trial of Amazon Prime Student here. After the trial period, you’ll pay half of a normal Prime subscription — just £3.99 a month.
Does Amazon offer an NHS discount?
Unfortunately Amazon doesn’t offer any official discount to NHS workers.
Does Amazon offer a military discount?
Like health workers, veterans and those who work in the armed forces are not entitled to any bespoke Amazon discounts.
How much does shipping cost?
Millions of products on Amazon are eligible for free delivery if you’re a member of Amazon Prime, which costs £7.99 per month (although you can get a 30-day trial for free).
The membership entitles you to free same-day delivery in some postcodes, as well as access to Prime Video, Prime Music and Prime Reading.
If you choose not to buy a Prime Membership you can still get free delivery on certain orders fulfilled by Amazon. Delivery fees for orders not fulfilled by Amazon can vary.
