Daniel Ricciardo takes his Red Bull F1 car on a US road trip

Hopefully it won't be Ricciardo's last epic drive in a Red Bull

PICTURE THE ideal car to complete a US road trip in, and a Ford Mustang muscle car most likely springs to mind. For Daniel Ricciardo, though, the vehicle of choice had to be a Formula One car.

With time to spare during Formula One’s three-week-long summer break, the Red Bull team and its Australian star saw a perfect opportunity to kick off the first stage of an F1 transatlantic road trip.

An amazing journey needs an equally impressive vehicle to complement it, and they don’t come much more amazing than the Red Bull RB7. The very car that Sebastian Vettel secured his second driver’s title in, the Red Bull RB7 was also one of the most dominant Formula One cars ever made, having accumulated 18 pole positions and winning 12 of the 19 races that made up the 2011 Formula One World Championship.

Though no race tracks or potential future F1 venues were featured in the whistlestop tour, plenty of stunning locales were visited. Starting off at San Francisco (complete with an obligatory jaunt across the Golden Gate Bridge), Danny Ric and his accompanying pit crew made their way through Utah’s Monument Valley, before stopping at the final destination – the famous Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas.

As Ricciardo will be leaving the Milton Keynes-based squad this year for Renault, we hope this won’t be the last epic drive we’ll see from Ricciardo behind the wheel of a Red Bull.
