What hatchback can I buy with a boot big enough for golf clubs?

A. Judging by the size of popular makes of golf bag, you need a car with a boot that offers at least 100cm between the back of the rear seats and the tailgate.

The first suggestion is the Skoda Octavia, which has 105cm of space. Prices start from about £16,500.

Next, try the Ford Mondeo hatchback. It’s larger than the Octavia, with 112cm of space, but costs a little more, starting from close to £20,500.

Even nicer, though not a hatchback, is the Volkswagen Passat saloon, which has 119cm of space for the clubs. It will cost you more, though; from £22,650.
