Lecturer Jailed over Motorway Pile-up  

 

Lecturer reaches for a sweet and causes a pile-up
Dr. Thomas Munch-Peterson, 52, who lives in Twickenham, Middlesex and teaches at the University College, London has been jailed for 90 days for dangerous driving. He has also been banned from driving for three years.

The lecturer lost control of his car on the M1 in Derbyshire as he reached into his pocket for a sweet. The crash caused a multiple pile-up that killed three people, including one of whom was pregnant.
