David Beckam
Manchester United footballer David Beckham won his appeal against an eight month driving ban last year. At Manchester Crown Court the footballer, who already had ten penalty points on his driving licence, explained his reason for driving at 76 mph in a road limited to 50 mph was because he was trying to escape a photographer. Judge Woodward said `we must consider this case for its particular and unique merits rather than the person of Mr. Beckham himself'.
